The Barn

After making a part time campsite in the pull-shed, we moved on to the horse barn. In April of 2019 we started peeling back the wooded area. We planned on building a horse barn on that part of the acreage anyway but in the process of removing the woods, we found a large concrete pad with old posts attached. We decided this would be the foundation for our horse barn and build up.

A few months prior we had explored the idea of buying horses. We had no idea where to start. An older family friend, Maryanne, had taught my mom to ride horses and years later had taught me. She was looking for a good home for her horses, as she was getting older, and it was harder for her to take care of them.

We had made an agreement and it was done. I was so excited. After many years of dreaming of having my own horse it had come true. To be honest this was a chaotic situation. We had built a small two stall barn with a breezeway, a goat area and a tack room. It was all set it was perfect. I was in love.
