The Workshop

We had no idea where to begin. Most would’ve started with the house. I mean, where else would you start? Well, we started with the barn, the one that had hay, nails, and mice. Yeah, it was horrible. We cleaned the whole thing out and took the depth of the ground in the barn down 2 feet. We took the depth down so our campers could be pulled in without ruining the rubber roof.

We filled it with tons of rock, flattened it, and leveled it repeatedly. Finally, it was ready for our campers to be pulled in. I remember one of our neighbors helped us tow them in because we didn’t have any farm equipment at that point. We moved our camper and my grandparent’s camper into the shed. We used the part behind our camper to store the wood. Then, we used the part behind my grandparents to store our rakes and tools. We had a whole setup in there; we even had a washer and dryer. Which would freeze in the occasionally cold temperatures.

The other part of that barn was known as the “workshop”. This is where we stored the more expensive tools, our food, a picnic table and a cute little burning stove with an amazing ability to heat the large room. When it got too cold to hang outside, this is where we would spend our time.
